California DTSC Releases Revised Draft Green Chemistry Regulations, ACA Preparing Comments
These drafted regulations are the ninth iteration issued in the past four years. California’s Green Chemistry Initiative seeks to reduce the amount of “toxics” in consumer products, under a regulatory program enacted by law in 2008.
ACA and Kentucky Paint Council Comment on Air District's Proposed Fee and Permit Regulations
A budget analysis by the district and metropolitan government has determined that fees are no longer covering the cost of the local air program, so the net result of this process is that it will mean additional costs to the regulated community.
ACA Amicus Supports Challenge of SEC's Conflict Minerals Disclosure Rulemaking in US Court of Appeals (D.C. Circuit)
ACA's amicus brief argues that, in drafting particular provisions in the rule governing, e.g., de minimis uses of conflict mineral derivatives, the SEC failed to apprise itself of the economic consequences of its action, either with respect to U.S. industry or the situation in the Congo.

Canada Proposes VOC Limits for Consumer Products
ACA is working with the Canadian Paint and Coatings Association to streamline the U.S. and Canadian regulatory framework for consumer products in Canada, and will be participating in a public meeting on the proposed regulations on Feb. 7.
Reminder: SCAQMD 2013 Rule 1113 Compliance Dates
Many of the California's South Coast Air Quality Management District rule compliance deadlines for Architectural Coatings Rule 1113 take effect for the first time during the calendar year 2013, and must be complied with by Jan.1, 2014.
