PaintCare® Bill Passes Colorado Senate
Colorado's Senate on Feb. 28 voted 18-15 to pass PaintCare® legislation. The Colorado House of Representatives will now take up the legislation.
House Subcommittee Releases Draft TSCA Modernization Bill
The Chemicals in Commerce Act (CICA) is similar to a bipartisan bill introduced in the Senate last May that would update the Toxic Substances Control Act.
Santa Barbara Proposes Changes to its AIM Rule
California's Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District has proposed amending its Rule 323.1 for architectural and industrial maintenance (AIM) coatings limits for volatile organic compounds (VOC). Santa Barbara is the latest air district to do so; 10 other California air districts have developed rulemakings to adopt the 2007 California Suggested Control Measure for AIM coatings.

House Passes Regulatory Reform Measure, ALERRT Act
ACA, along with over 100 other organizations, signed onto a letter urging the House to pass the regulatory reform package it believes will alleviate unnecessary regulatory burdens placed on manufacturers and other businesses by promoting increased public participation in the rulemaking process and providing transparency as agencies engage in regulation by litigation to establish major federal policy.
Wal-Mart Releases Guidance for Suppliers on its New Sustainability Policy
The guidance includes a deadline of January 2015 for suppliers to make public all product ingredients online, as well as the disclosure of Wal-Mart's 10 high-priority chemicals on product packaging by January 2018.

Call for Papers: 2014 Powder Coating Show & Expo
The Powder Coating Institute will host its 2014 Powder Coating Show in Indianapolis, Ind. Sept. 16-18, and is seeking abstracts on a variety of powder coating topics, from intermediate to advanced application, surface preparation, recovery, system troubleshooting, target markets, benefits of using powder coatings versus other alternatives, and more.
