New Copper Coatings Bill Introduced in California Legislature
The bill's language proposes that no later than Feb. 1, 2014, California's Department of Pesticide Regulation shall evaluate whether to register copper-based antifouling paint, and make recommendations for appropriate mitigation measures that may be implemented to address the protections of aquatic environments from the effects of exposure to that paint if it is registered as a pesticide.

Oral Arguments Set for May 15 in Conflict Minerals Case
ACA, along with six other trade associations, on Jan. 23 filed an amicus brief in support of an October 2012 lawsuit filed by the National Association of Manufacturers , U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Roundtable against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Don't Miss ACA's Smart 'Anticorrosion' Coatings VLC
ACA will continue its popular series of Virtual Learning Conferences on March 28 with an examination of "Smart 'Anticorrosion' Coatings." The one-hour course, scheduled for 1 p.m. (ET), will be led by Dr. Marshall Ming, of Georgia Southern University. Dr. Ming will discuss the findings which were originally reported on in his 2012 Roon Award-winning paper.
