Washington Governor Expected to Sign Delay of Copper Ban, Study Issue Further
The legislation would delay the state ban on the use of copper in antifouling paints until 2026 and directs the Department of Ecology (DOE) to take further investigative action by completing another study and convening a stakeholder advisory group to review the state of science, fully understand potential alternatives, and examine all environmental impacts from the use of antifouling paints in Washington waters.

Federal legislation introduced earlier this month would amend the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act, and aims to provide American consumers nationwide with clear, accurate and meaningful information and prevent the issuance of inaccurate labels that mislead consumers and drive up prices.

ACA Member Webinar: EPA PFAS TRI
This one-hour webinar on April 7 at 1:00 pm (EDT) will provide an overview of the new federal Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) requirements. The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 (NDAA) added certain Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) to the TRI list. These chemicals are subject to TRI reporting requirements for Reporting Year 2020. The webinar will also address the TRI reporting forms, which are due by July 1, 2021. ACA members must use their login credentials to register.

American Coatings Show and Conference 2020 Postponed
After careful consideration and in response to the continuing developments surrounding COVID-19, the organizers of the American Coatings Show and Conference 2020 (ACS/ACC) announced that the ACS/ACC will be postponed to a later date in 2020. The ACS/ACC was scheduled for March 31 through April 2 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Ind. The ACS/ACC organizers are working to secure dates to reschedule the show at the same venue in Indianapolis later in 2020. The new dates for the event will be announced as soon as possible.
