Some Progress Made on Storage Tank Bill in Massachusetts Legislature
ACA and its Massachusetts Paint Council have been working for some years on legislation in Massachusetts that would amend the state's hazardous materials storage tank regulations, which require permits and costly inspections for what would normally be deemed nonhazardous materials (i.e., latex paint).

IPPIC Secretariat Addresses Recent Study Published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene
As Secretarial of the International Paint and Printing Ink Council, the American Coatings Association has responded to a recently published study, entitled "Lead Concentrations and Labeling of New Paint in Cameroon." The study, conducted by a non-governmental organization named Occupational Knowledge International, consisted of widespread "paint testing" efforts in Asia and Africa to identify products that contain lead.
