ACA Submits Statement on Corporate Tax Reform to U.S. Senate Finance Committee Working Group on Business Income Tax

IPPIC Supports UN Global Alliance to Eliminate Lead Paint
The broad objective of the alliance is to promote a phase-out of the manufacture and sale of paints containing lead and to eventually eliminate the risks that such paints pose.
Consumer Sentiment Continues to Show Strength
There are a number of measures of consumer sentiment that can provide insight into future economic expectations. The purchasing behavior of consumers is key to growth in the coatings industry, as coatings products’ sales are driven by purchases of consumer durables, such as automobiles, as well as construction and renovation, which are major drivers of sales of architectural coatings.
The University of Michigan publishes a key index, The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index (MCSI), which is a consumer confidence index published monthly by the University of Michigan. The Michigan figure shows that consumer confidence has risen steadily since the end of the recession, and, in particular, since the middle of 2011. According to the OECD, a Composite Indicator for Consumer Confidence Opinion Surveys shows the current level of consumer confidence exceeding what is considered a “normal” level. These trends suggest that the upcoming year will show industry growth, consistent with the latest ACA modeled coatings forecasts.
