Aerospace Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) Residual Risk/Technology Review
As part of its review, EPA visited 10 facilities and required the aerospace industry to submit detailed information on the coatings used at aerospace manufacturing operations. It appears that the agency is seeking to change the measurement of hazardous air pollutant (HAP) limits from the current lbs./gal., to volume coating solids.

Papers Sought for the 2014 American Coatings Conference
The American Coatings Association, in partnership with Vincentz Network (VN), is issuing a call for papers to be presented at the American Coatings Conference 2014. This major technology forum for the coatings industry will take place April 7-9, 2014 in Atlanta, Ga., and is held in conjunction with the American Coatings Show. Innovative companies, as well as academic, governmental, and research institutes, are invited to submit abstracts detailing high-level technical contributions that present advancements important to coatings, as well as printing inks, adhesives, and sealants.

ANAFAPYT Latin American Coatings Show Attracts 4,000 Visitors
The 2013 ANAFAPYT Latin American Coating Show was held from June 10-13 at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City, Mexico. The show drew nearly 4,000 visitors. The value of this sector is estimated to be $28,500 million pesos, placing Mexico as the second largest coatings consumer in Latin America, only led by Brazil. The paint and ink industry contributes about 2 percent of the Mexican GDP.
Clariant and Wilmar Merger Clearance Granted
The two companies are forming a 50-50 joint venture headquartered in Singapore, "the Global Amines Company," to produce and sell fatty amines and selected amines derivatives.

2013 Chemical Sector Security Summit Registration Now Open
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's National Protection & Programs Directorate's Office of Infrastructure Protection (NPPD/IP) and the Chemical Sector Coordinating Council are co-sponsoring the 2013 Chemical Sector Security Summit in Baltimore, Md., on July 10–11. The seventh annual summit will provide a forum for representatives from the chemical community to exchange information and network with other security professionals, share best practices, learn more about chemical security regulations, and gain insight into the roles of federal, state and local agencies and departments involved in chemical security.
