California PaintCare® Program: A Successful First Year
In the first year, PaintCare established 495 paint drop-off sites; collected and processed 632,652 gallons of paint — 96 percent of which was recycled back into paint or used for another beneficial purpose; and recycled 363 tons of plastic and metal paint cans.
Gov. Brown Enacts ACA-Supported California AB 425, Antifouling Paint Registration and Mitigation
The new law will require the California Department of Pesticide Regulation to determine, no later than Feb. 1, 2014, a leach rate for copper-based antifouling paint used on recreational vessels and make recommendations for appropriate mitigation measures that may be implemented to address the protection of aquatic environments from the effects of exposure to that paint.
FMSCA to Propose Revised Definition for 'Tank Vehicle'
ACA believes that expanding the definition of a tank vehicle to include portable tanks and intermediate bulk containers, which in the aggregate have a capacity over 1,000 gallons, has had a significant impact on the coatings industry without any seeming safety benefit.
ACA and CPCA Submit Joint Comments to Canada-U.S. Regulatory Cooperation Council
CPCA and ACA identified several areas with respect to issues of concern for member companies, a number of which operate on both sides of the border and have a significant amount of product moving across the border.
