Rise in demand for ambulance services forecasted for Grey County

Grey County is forecasting that usage of paramedic services is going to rise by almost 70 per cent over the next ten years.
At its meeting on Oct. 13, county council received a preliminary report from ORH (Operational Research in Health Limited) consultant Andrew Greggan about future needs for Grey County Paramedic Services.

Man transported to hospital by air ambulance

The Ministry of Labour is investigating an incident at a Delhi area farm that sent a man to hospital recently. A ministry spokesperson said a worker on the farm was injured. The investigation is ongoing and an inspector has been assigned to the case.

No heartbeat, no pulse, paramedic testifies at inquest into death of Derek Whalen

A paramedic on the ambulance team that transported Derek James Whalen from the Shediac detention centre to the Moncton Hospital testified Tuesday that Whalen showed no signs of life in the time he spent with him.
The coroner and an inquest jury have heard from correctional officers at the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre who said Whalen suddenly became violent and had to be restrained before he became unresponsive.
