SBI
Join us next Tuesday, July 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET for the third entry in the 2022 SBI Summer Live Webinar Series, “Breast Imaging in the ER.”

Breast cancer spreads more aggressively during sleep
National Geographic
More than just a 24-hour biological timer that lulls us asleep at night and awakens in the morning, the inbuilt master clock in the human brain also controls the daily ebb and flow of hormones, regulates body temperature, cues hunger, and schedules digestion, among hundreds of physiological functions. Now a new study of breast cancer patients reveals that cancer cells take advantage of these hormone cycles to spread while the patient is sleeping.

Breast cancer surgery recovery and follow-up screening
MD Anderson
Most breast cancer patients undergo surgery of some kind. For some, this may include mastectomy; others may have breast conservation surgeries, like a partial mastectomy or lumpectomy.
The type of surgery depends on several different factors. Just as no two patients are alike, surgical plans and treatment are different for each person.

Seno Medical’s Imagio® breast imaging system, the first PMA approved opto-acoustic fused with ultrasound (OA/US) technology, provides physicians with vital information needed to better determine whether a suspicious mass is benign with the goal of reducing the rate of biopsies from a benign mass. Seno’s OA/US technology can reduce negative breast biopsies by combining laser optics and acoustics, providing radiologists functional information regarding the relative degree of oxygenation and deoxygenation in and around a mass, without injections of contrast or radiopharmaceuticals. Later Biopsy, Hello Imagio®!
