AI can make breast cancer screening more accessible and affordable

Of the 685,000 women who die around the world every year because of breast cancer, over 90,000 are in India, where cancer of the breast is the most common cause of cancer-related deaths in India.

Breast cancer screening bill creating more options for women

A bill at the Ohio Statehouse is working on giving women more options when they are being screened for breast cancer.
For women with dense breast tissue, it can be difficult to see a tumor using a normal mammogram, but insurance providers don’t always cover the additional screening sometimes needed.

Racial, ethnic minorities underrepresented in cancer research

Black, Hispanic, American Indian, and Alaskan Native people are vastly underrepresented in research studies on breast, prostate, lung, and colorectal cancer, according to an analysis.
The research was published online on Nov. 8, 2021, by the journal JAMA Network Open. Read “Racial and Ethnic Disparities Among Participants in Precision Oncology Clinical Studies.”
