Time Is Running Out To Complete the IT Trends Study Survey!
SIM
Responses to the SIM IT Trends Study Survey continue to roll in – almost 25% of SIM members have either started or finished the survey to date. While participation is up from last year, it still lags behind the 2020 participation rate, so we really want to hear from you!
Remember that this year’s IT Trends Study Survey has been shortened and simplified. In fact, several SIM members have noted that it took them less time to complete and appreciated the efforts to simplify the survey. Specifically, survey questions that require respondents to select up to five items from a list (such as top IT issues, investment areas, and performance measures) now provide at most 30 options to select from (compared to more than 40 options in previous years). Additionally, more than 15 questions covering topics such as IT governance, cloud computing, and COVID-related practices have all been eliminated from this year’s study.

Making Room At the Cap Table: A New Plan For Promoting Diversity in Tech
TechCrunch
It’s no secret that the tech world struggles with diversity. Women, African Americans and Latinos respectively comprise 33%, 8% and 7% of the total tech workforce and just 20%, 5% and 5% of its leadership, despite evidence of a correlation between diversity and success.
As an industry, tech has succeeded in normalizing the topic of workforce diversity, and while the results are slow coming, there is movement, and that’s worth acknowledging.
