Keynote Speaker: Michael M. Gottesman, MD, NIH National Cancer Institute
Monday, Jan. 25, 9:00-10:00 a.m., Room 6AB Sponsored by

Arrive by 8:30 a.m. to claim a seat for the SLAS2016 Opening Session. After important SLAS announcements, keynote speaker Gottesman virtually presents “Analyzing the Complexity of Drug Resistance in Cancer,” summarizing his current work to define mechanisms of drug resistance in cancer, and determine clinical relevance of these mechanisms to develop means to circumvent or target them. Gottesman is chief of the Laboratory of Cell Biology in the National Cancer Institute and NIH deputy director for intramural research, overseeing research and training in NIH laboratories.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are one way SLAS helps connect the community to develop ideas and initiatives around shared interests. SIGs are informal, free and organized by SLAS members to explore specialized topics. Everyone is invited to join these SIG meetings during SLAS2016 and/or keep in touch with SLAS SIGs throughout the year on LinkedIn.
