From the Desk of the Associate Executive Director
Hello! Very excited to be writing to you with IMSH — in Los Angeles! — just a few months away. I am looking forward to seeing you all — and given how many of you have registered, and how many of our industry partners are going to be at IMSH — it looks like you all are excited to see each other too! Get registered and get to Los Angeles! https://imsh2022.org
Some new things you will see at IMSH:
- Masters Classes for administrators, educators, and operations specialists. Register for these courses and spend some time learning from the masters in healthcare simulation—the Fellows of the SSH Academy.
- Technology-oriented activities at IMSH are being expanded. We are conducting a pilot technology research activity; we are expanding the technology experiential area in SimVentors; and we are launching a pitch room — do you have a novel technology/technology idea that you would like to pitch to our panel and get feedback? (more information to come!)
Of course, I must share updates on certification.
- Testing will be available in-person at IMSH again. Remember to get your application in and approved. Then go and select the IMSH testing site (look up Los Angeles) and select your day and time from what is available.
- Can't make it to IMSH? Testing is available all year at testing centers around the world.
- Prefer to test at home? You can do this too — just select remote proctoring as the option for testing. This is available all the time as well.
- SPANISH-LANGUAGE TRANSLATION OF CHSE®: Many thanks to Dr Edgar Herrera for presenting to all our Spanish-speaking friends about CHSE® being available in Spanish. We are very excited for the next year to see many of you become a CHSE®! The video is available on our website at https://www.ssih.org/Credentialing/Certification/CHSE.
It is time to join your colleagues and get certified! www.simcertification.com
BE RECOGNIZED. FOR COMMITMENT. FOR EXPERIENCE. FOR KNOWLEDGE. GET CERTIFIED!
The SSH Store!
And one last thing…did you know that we have an online store just for you? We have a selection of items that you can purchase. And you can get them with any of our logos — Accreditation; CHSE®; CHSOS®; CHSE-A®; CHSOS-ATM; SSH; and IMSH. Or maybe you want a frame for your certification. Show off your accomplishments! https://www.ssih.org/SSH-Resources/Merchandise/SSH-Online-Store.
Note — many of the embroidered items can also have your name or your simulation program's name added as desired.
Email me with questions! aspain@ssih.org

The initial cost of setting up a healthcare simulation center with equipment, inventory, audiovisual infrastructure, and management software can be substantial. These endeavors are often funded through grants, gifts or other one-time capital events. As a result, ongoing simulation center expenses must be justified. Selecting SimCapture for your simulation education management provides significant return on investment in critical areas of operation allowing for nearly immediate justification. SimCapture not only offers automation and efficiency tools but will help provide curriculum management and increased collaboration throughout your center. Learn more about what SimCapture can offer your center.
