Besides typical options menus, Android developers can also create specialized menu types such as the contextual menu and the popup menu within their apps. A contextual menu is a menu which affects (or appears on) specific items and generally has options that affect only that particular item. Creating 'loading' animations using only CSS3
Sitepoint    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
If you have spent any significant time on the Web, you will almost certainly have seen small animations that indicate a page, image or other Web element is loading or being processed. These animations not only look good but also give a feeling of complex processing at the backend. More than anything, these animations tell the user that their request is being processed. Most of the time, the images used are GIF files that run continuously until another event occurs. GIF images can also be heavy in size and take time to load at the front end. More

Despite the emergence of powerful desktop technology tools, it still takes more than a single software suite to become a great Web developer. Developers are virtually tethered to their computers, but just like graphic designers, Web devs can be surprisingly productive away from their desk or outside of the office. Lugging a laptop from place to place is rarely the ideal way to maintain productivity on the move, and thanks to well-designed mobile apps, it's often unnecessary. More

Ditch lorem ipsum for BLOKK: The perfect font for quick mock-ups and wireframing
The Next Web    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Lorem ipsum, the Latin placeholder text often used when submitting designs to clients, has long been a popular choice for designers. But Latin isn't much like English, so it can be misleading to use Latin filler text when designing type-heavy sites.
